What: Asheville's 14th Annual Free Public Witch Ritual on Samhain is a family-friendly Halloween gathering conducted by Coven Oldenwilde
Where: Unity Center, 2401 Old Fanning Bridge Rd. in Arden, NC
When: Thursday October 30th thru Saturday November 1st
       The Samhain rite is on Friday October 31st from 8 to 10 PM
Wear: A mask & black costume      Bring: Gear, eats & water if camping
Optional: Bring cash for smoked foods & “Torture Chamber” bail

Revel at leisure with real Witches — camp out all Halloween weekend or just participate in the Samhain rite, as you wish!

This year’s theme is Masked Dancing & Divination. Print a 14-pointed mask template to make a mask using leather, papier maché, or whatnot! (Courtesy Inklessstales.com)

The gathering features wondrous Witchy music, traditional Pagan Dances, fortune-telling, and meats and veggies smoked on-site!

Pitch tents in front of the trees Thursday or by 3 PM Friday. (No pets or familiars, please.) Expect warm days and frosty nights.

Throughout, don't step on a Fairy or break some other humorous, arbitrary “rule”, or you'll have to bail out of the dreaded “Torture Chamber”. (For more wicked fun, get your friends or relatives tossed in!)

The Samhain rite begins at 8 PM on Halloween. Dance the Meeting Dance and the Spiral Dance, and reach ecstasy in a culminating Cone of Power. Afterward, find out how you'll fare in the New Year from expert psychics in decorated tents!

MAP & DIRECTIONS
Map to Unity Center
From I-26 (Asheville, Arden, Hendersonville, Greenville):
    Take I-26 to Exit 40 ("Airport, Arden"). Turn Right onto Airport Road. Go 1.5 miles, passing the airport on your right. Take the next Right onto Old Fanning Bridge Road (marked by a large green sign reading "Mountain Horticultural Crops Research Center"). Go 2 miles, always bearing left, across the river and past the Mountain Horticultural Crops Research Center on your right. Unity Center is on your Left (1/2 mile before the T-intersection with Route 191). Park in the lots on the left side of the church property, then walk behind the church (a round building) down the hill to the Samhain site.
